SmartValves is developing a battery-free, leadless technology to improve the management of conduction disturbances following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), a complication that can be difficult to predict and may lead to prolonged monitoring and permanent pacemaker implantation. Designed to integrate with commercially available transcatheter heart valves, the system provides continuous cardiac sensing and on-demand pacing, enabling physicians to support patients beyond the procedure and make permanent pacing decisions based on patient-specific data.
